You Can Find Inspiration Everywhere!

I have been OFF my game people! I haven’t been doing bad with eating or going the healthy route but I sure haven’t been keeping up with this blog thing!

This will be a quick one but I do have plans for better, longer posts soon! Anywho, on to the inspiration!

There is this old man in my neighborhood that I see almost every day walking. He always waves and looks like he’s having a great day! Prob cause he’s starting his day off right! Usually in the morning I am still sleepy and easily irritated but seeing this guy out there doing his thing always puts a smile on my face!

So the moral of the story is….if you’re feeling down or unmotivated or whatever, take a look around! Sometimes it’s the little things that get ya 🙂

Also I was bad and kept forgetting to take my greens last week (they were in my car in the backseat from Florida annnnnd out of sight, out of mind!) and I really noticed a difference (not in a good way!). I didn’t have as much energy and just didn’t feel as good as I was feeling. So, the second moral of the story is keep up the good work! And pay attention to how you’re feeling when you’re making these healthy changes. You could notice and learn more than you think!

It Works!

So y’all have heard me talk about the It Works stuff so I’m here to expand! I don’t have personal experience with all of the products…yet. But I can report back on the most popular!

Greens: One word – awesome. With eight full servings of fruits and veggies and lots of other good stuff, it’s like a multivitamin on crack. But like…..good crack? Read more about Greens here and make sure to click the view ingredients link! It has several FAQ’s that are really informational. I add two scoops (a regular serving size) of the berry flavor to my morning protein smoothie! I have definitely noticed a change for the good in being more energized in the morning and throughout the day. After coming off of a bad cold, it’s hard not to feel healthy after that but Greens definitely helped get me over the hump and I honestly feel healthier than I have since before the cold gave me winter-long congestion.

Wraps: The ultimate body applicator is also awesome. Four wraps is a full process but I’ve only done one so I’m going to wait until I’ve done another one or two. My SIL pics were grainy so it was hard to see the results if you weren’t there but as a woman who looks awesome after having FIVE, yes that is 5, kids you know it’s gonna take a toll on your tummy! She said the wrap tightened her tum and felt firmer, woo! I gave her and my brother one each but I think she might finagle her way into using both 🙂 Below are several before/after pics and there are plenty more where that came from! Read more here

Defining Gel: They recommend using this stuff in between wraps and may I say, it’s a good recommendation! My tum doesn’t look awesome yet but it looks a lot better than when I started! Definitely lives up to its name and tighten, tones and firms! More here

Ultimate Fat Fighter: First of all, this stuff is only $23 (loyal customer price) so that’s awesome. Second, you know when you have a really delicious meal, healthy or not and you just feel overstuffed and gross? The fat fighter has carb inhibitors and this stuff from cacti that block some of the carbs and cals you intake. So you just poop it out later! Cool! Haha all jokes aside, this stuff is great! Although, don’t take it after a morning protein shake with a bunch of other awesome stuff…you don’t want anything good getting blocked! Plus with breakfast being the most important meal of the day, you prob shouldn’t mess with breakfast. Read more heeeeere.

I’m tired and have to cook chicken for this week’s food prep so since I just did my facial tonight, I’ll wait until tomorrow. Then I can tell you how this balsamic chicken turned out I’m about to make and inhale after or in between also doing an hour of yoga sometime tonight. This is what the dream is people. It’s not easy but it’s worth it!

I THINK I’M STARTING TO SEE RESULTS!!!

I’ve been watching House of Cards this week so I haven’t updated as much as last – sorry I’m not sorry, that show is awesome and you should check it out if you haven’t already.

ANYWAYS….

So I looked in the mirror yesterday morn and was like, “oh hey girl, you’re looking pretty good!” I don’t think it’s enough for others to notice yet (they say it takes 4 weeks for you to notice, 8 weeks for your close friends and family to notice and 12 weeks for the rest of the world to notice or something like that – rude but I guess it makes sense!) but I’m feeling good! I think it has to do with my overall attitude too. I’ve had more energy and been happy that I’m making these awesome changes and I think that is reflected when I look in the mirror now. Making these changes has helped me gain confidence and a better attitude!

So the lesson from that is…keep on keeping on! Every single decision I’ve made the past month hasn’t been perfect, I’ve eaten pizza, I’ve missed a day of exercise here and there but overall I have been making better decisions, healthier choices, progress in my workouts, etc. Don’t give up if you don’t see results right away. Pay attention to how you’re feeling too. If you’re feeling good, the results will come!

Here’s a pic of the awesome breakfast protein smoothies I’ve been drankin’ for some motivation!

From bottom to top: ¼ cup oatmeal, ⅛ cup chia seeds, ⅛ cup flax seeds, ¼ cup hemp seeds, a handful of spinach, 2 scoops of Greens, 1 scoop protein powder, frozen fruit and water or almond milk

OMG HEALTH. So filling & delicious! I drink one of these babies on the way to work in the morning (done by 8:30am) and I’m good until lunch at 1pm.

I’ll be posting about It Works stuff next, I love the greens, fat fighters, wraps, defining gel and I’m trying a facial tomorrow woooo! This stuff is not meant to take place of a healthy diet and exercise, but I am not above a little help along the way! I’ll post about my personal experience with the stuff as well as lots of pictures and a blog post from a personal trainer about why he offers his clients It Works! They really do have something for everyone for every part of your healthy journey!

I think I am going to take Stella for a walk tomorrow so also check back for some awesome photos from that shindig…

How NOT to Cook…..

So when you’re trying to incorporate different foods into your diet, it’s probably best you follow a recipe…unlike myself who thought I could just be a chef without any training.

Asparagus: I put some olive oil and balsamic vinegar in a glass baking dish with dried onion bits and “roasted” them in the oven for about 15 min. at 400 degrees. These actually didn’t turn out too bad, I would even go as far to say they were good but they weren’t great. They were a little bland but I had gotten home late so I was trying to do something quick and easy.

Protein cereal: This one was definitely not a good choice. Unsweetened almond milk +  Special K = not a bad quick breakfast (I really am the worst at getting anything substantial done in the morning). However..when you try to add vanilla protein powder to the milk then add the cereal, the consistency is gross and it doesn’t taste all that great.

So…today’s tip is plan ahead and get a recipe before hand! Or make sure you have a back up plan when your first attempt goes awry. Thankfully I had my greens to supplement some healthiness into my morning! PHEW.
